Team McGraw Chosen as Charity Partner for ING New York City Marathon 2007
Runners Get Ready in Support of the Tug McGraw Foundation
Lace up your running shoes, break a sweat, and make a difference by joining Team McGraw as we take on the 26.2 mile challenge at the ING New York City Marathon 2007 this November to raise money and awareness in the fight against brain tumors.
This will be the first time that the Tug McGraw Foundation will be represented at what has become the world’s largest marathon. The celebrated road race attracts a world-class field from across the globe, thousands of amateur athletes, two million cheering fans, and 315 million television viewers worldwide. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to share our mission and inspire new possibilities in the field of brain tumor research…and the Foundation is thrilled to be included.
“This is just so great,” says Foundation president, Jennifer Brusstar. “To have a team of runners ready to work so hard, not only to run, but to also raise money in support of our patients, our caregivers, our friends, our families, and our mission is really terrific. We are honored to be selected as a partner with such a remarkable and historical event.”

A combination of celebrities, friends, physicians, and supporters plan to join Team McGraw for the ING New York City Marathon 2007. Pictured here are members of Tim McGraw's band, the Dancehall Doctors - (from left) drummer Billy Mason, guitarist Denny Hemingson, keyboardist and TMF board member Jeff McMahon, and fiddler Dean Brown - crossing the finish line after running a 5K together in Milwaukee on behalf of the Tug McGraw Foundation in 2005. |
Team McGraw has already begun to prepare for the race, which is to be held on November 4, 2007. We are currently establishing our application process and necessary qualifications, as there are a limited number of spots available on this team. All accepted applicants to become a part of Team McGraw would be expected to meet certain fundraising goals in support of the Tug McGraw Foundation.
