QLu in Brief
QLu offers celebrities in all fields (music, television, motion pictures, sports, etc) a user-friendly service that collects their everyday clothes, accessories, household items and then sells them through the eBay marketplace generating funds for their foundation or charity of choice. In other words, a way for celebrities to ”clean out your closet for cause” and further the tremendous philanthropic works occurring throughout the globe. These very same items then become treasures for the buyer - bringing fans closer to their beloved stars. Beginning March 21, QLu will auction live via eBay celebrities’ everyday items, including those of athletes, musicians, and television and film stars—all directly benefiting the celebrity’s chosen charitable cause.
Susie Busch-Transou and Cindy Lee are the founders of QLu.
“Our dream is to see QLu become the trusted place celebrities go to create community or global value from personal, everyday items they no longer want, and have the money raised go directly to the charitable organizations they personally support,” said Busch-Transou. “The work of the Tug McGraw Foundation is tremendous and we are thrilled that through Tim’s generosity, QLu can be a part of helping the meaningful and life changing work of the Foundation”
“Our business is unique in that it creates a special connection between a hero and a fan that might have otherwise been impossible. We all love our heroes, whether they are athletes, artists, musicians or actors. They sometimes give us hope and joy, or even the will to achieve,” Lee said. “Now, through QLu, we can offer fans a token of their hero and, at the same time, support the charitable work they do in a positive and natural way.”
QLu is headquartered in St. Louis, MO. It is a service business dedicated to fundraising for celebrity charities, promoting the philanthropy of celebrities, and giving fans a connection with their heroes through the opportunity to own their everyday, personal items. |
